Sorry T+L, You Got This One Wrong – Here’s How You Can Really Get Upgraded to First Class ✈ The Sunday Round-Up

Good Sunday morning to you! TSA checkpoint numbers have continued to rise over the past six days (over 100,000 people a day more than a week earlier), which is promising. Even more promising are COVID-19 numbers, which, in much of the USA, continue to fall. I wrote about a New York Times article this week showing that COVID is in retreat and I just updated this post with a link to a detailed daily updated website with case and hospitalization numbers so you know places to go and to avoid.

As you'll see from the news and travel tips below, this has been another busy week in the travel industry, including a momentous announcement by the Canucks affecting all travelers so please scroll all the way down to read it.

This week, I was also able to find some time to take my kids to an amazing pumpkin farm, watch playoff baseball and an episode of Ted Lasso (my wife found Ted's secret shortbread recipe) and tonight I'm going to try and check out a new show titled Operation Hidden Treasures, produced by one of the producers of my old Travel Channel show.

Travel & Leisure posted the most ridiculous article I’ve seen in a long time yesterday on Instagram. Their caption read, “Sometimes getting an upgrade isn’t about the right timing or knowing the right people. Sometimes, it’s all about having the right outfit. Find out what to wear to increase your chances of an upgrade, according to flight attendants, at the link in bio.” Now, if you want to make a left turn when you step aboard a plane, here's how you really get upgraded to first class.
