Hi John,

Today, I want to share an empowering story about when a lady named Sophia found my page and met my Sophia.

For context, the Sophia series of drawings is the story of fighting for and winning our freedoms. She is courageous and bold while still being vulnerable and open to learning.

I received a message from Sophia the other day, expressing how she resonated with my Sophia drawing (I think that’s pretty cool!) She said that it felt like I was describing her when reading Sophie. Saying it’s so beautiful how I visualized my soul as her.

Sophia was living in oppression with some very toxic Christian beliefs and in an abusive marriage. She thought about suicide every day until she finally got divorced in 2019. At that point, she was shunned by her former church community and friends.

“I’ve been on this journey, too. Now, I feel so free and happy. I cry happy tears every day. I see so much beauty every day. It would be way too grandiose to say the photos of Sophia are of me but I felt particularly touched because the photos looked like me along with the description and my name is Sophia.” (Sophia)”

The resemblance is pretty uncanny if you ask me!
