Hi John! Wow! Day after day I hear from people with their amazing stories. Some of their stories they share publicly in the comments. Others reach out to me directly by email or direct message or private message or whatever. They often start with, “I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but…” and go on to share their tales of transformation. They are also grateful for the affirming and encouraging content that I try to deliver every day. It means a lot to me to know my work is making a difference in the world. I couldn’t ask for anything more. |

DAD JOKE OF THE WEEK |
I can’t help it. I laugh at dad jokes. Here’s one: “My boss told me to have a good day, so I went home.” |

CARTOON OF THE WEEK |
Amber (on the right) commissioned this cartoon for her pastor. I mean, just look at those smiles! Amber’s pastor is affirming and so is their church. She recognized her pastor in this older cartoon of mine. But she asked that I make the pastor’s face look like her pastor. It took some work, but I got it done. A lot of people don’t realize I do commissions. Yes! I will do cartoons, drawings, paintings, and even tattoo designs. They’re fun to do. Especially when it helps bring joy into the lives of others. |

POST OF THE WEEK |
| Do you relate? I remember it took me a long time to get over the guilt of not doing something. The guilt of repose. Relaxation. Rest. This post is FULL of comments from people who totally get what I’m talking about. Because many of us grew up in a religious culture that required us to always be on our game, always a light, always ready to testify, always ready to give, volunteer, sign up, surrender, attend, explain. I think one of the most important things we can learn as we grow personally/spiritually or whatever through our deconstruction is to slip out from under 24/7 accountability and just be ourselves. And just be. |

PAINTING OF THE WEEK |
|
I’m going to give you 15% OFF on this painting. Although I do love watercolor on paper and it’s my go-to medium for painting, once in a while I’ll venture onto canvas. As you may have noticed, I love trees. To me they are living beings and each one is special… just like us. Sometimes I paint a real tree from nature. But most of the time they are taken from my imagination. I create the image in my mind and transfer it into real life on canvas or paper. I call this one “I Will Survive Again and Again”. It’s about YOUR ability to keep coming back! I believe in you! Do you believe in yourself? |

Sophia’s StoryThis is my Sophia drawing “Freedom” available in prints. It’s amazing to me how many people resonate with Sophia. So many! It really is all about FREEDOM! Which is why I called the collection of images and meditations, “The Liberation of Sophia” (on Amazon). Really… freedom has become THE issue, I think, in my life and in the lives of people I help. Did you know if you click on the link to the book in Amazon you can “see inside” the book, read the intro, and discover what she’s all about? |

QUOTE OF THE WEEK"The church’s speciality has always been the neutralization of the overly curious mind through faith." (the Cardinal is Saramago’s, Death With Interruptions). I think we can all agree! |

A FINAL NOTEAt the beginning I shared the dad joke about going home from work to have a good day. Even though I’m in the second half of my life, I’m still learning how to be me. One of the things I’m learning, as I told a podcaster yesterday, is that I am basically living the life of a hermit who writes, draws, and does interviews. I’m grateful for my friendships… in real life and online. I treasure you all in my heart. Serious! Much love everyone! David |
