Softball one and done at SEC Tournament; Kramer Robertson gets MLB AB No. 1

Postseasons seasons and new seasons mix in May on the LSU sports scene.

Let's roll the highlights ...

Softball

The softball Tigers twice matched Mississippi State run for run Wednesday but couldn't do it a third time, eliminated 7-4 from the first round of the SEC Tournament in Gainesville, Fla. LSU's hopes of hosting an NCAA Tournament regional now seem all but over.

Baseball

Former LSU star infielder Kramer Robertson got called up to the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday and needed just one more day to get his first major league at bat against the Baltimore Orioles.

Golf

The LSU women's golf team punched its ticket from the NCAA Stanford regional to the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Arizona, with a runner-up performance.

Track and field

The men's and women's teams are in Oxford, Mississippi, for the SEC Championships, not much different from the NCAA Championships in terms of competitiveness.
