Popcorn at the ready — some sensational films are coming soon to the UK's largest cinema screen! You'll find this 20m x 26m behemoth at BFI IMAX in the heart of Waterloo. (That giant cylinder in the middle of a roundabout, it's pretty difficult to miss!)

Fresh from a major refurb, this bonafide London landmark now boasts 12-channel sound technology, cutting edge 4k IMAX with laser projection and comfy new seats, in addition to that huge new screen. There's never been a better time to visit — and that's before we even get into this season's listings!

Easter Holiday Fun

Looking for ways to keep the kids happy while school's out? Treat them to a BFI IMAX trip! Be transported to Mushroom Kingdom with The Super Mario Bros. Movie, join an unlikely gang on an epic quest in Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, or get lost in Japan with Suzume, Makato Shinkai’s stunning new anime.

An Alien Extravaganza

You've probably heard that 4 May is Star Wars Day, but did you know that 26 April is Alien Day? It's a nod to LV426 — the planet on which aliens are first discovered in Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi classic. This year, BFI IMAX celebrates in style with a double bill of Alien and its 1992 sequel Aliens.

Countdown To Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan's hotly anticipated war drama Oppenheimer lands in UK cinemas this July and, to celebrate, BFI IMAX is screening a few of the auteur's best-loved films in stunning IMAX 70mm (as in, proper film with a proper projector!) It's your chance to see Inception, Interstellar and The Dark Knight Trilogy as they were made to be seen.
