DIY Baby Girl Christening Souvenir
By katrine2706
I made this craft for a friend who is celebrating her birthday. It's a simple token and I suddenly realized it's also a nice idea for a christening or dedication souvenir. Just in case you know someone who is on a tight budget and looking for a cheaper way to distribute simple souvenirs for their simple celebration.

If you love flowers, but can't afford the real McCoy, then these DIY flowers are just what you need. Turn newspapers and pompoms into flowers. Displayed in a suitable glass vase, you will have flowers in your house that will last a long time, without breaking the bank in the process. You can make as many roses as you want!

Here is a great way to turn an empty jar into a blessing for the fall season. Decorate the jar with fall colored elements and fill it with pumpkin seeds. Print your favorite recipe using pumpkin seeds on a matching card and you have a perfect gift to spread some love at the beginning of fall.
Paint a Flower Pot Saucer that Doesn't Match Pot
By 15mhhm15
Flower pots and saucers are sold separately. I knew I had a saucer at home so I didn't buy a new one. When I went home, the saucer didn't match the pot. You can revamp the saucer with a little bit of paint and it pairs nicely with the accents of the pot. I was able to save the $1-2 on a saucer, and use an existing one.
Paper Bowl Pet Turtle Decoration
By 15mhhm15
My little one has been wanting a pet turtle after reading a book about turtles! This is probably the closest we can do with a pet turtle and she's having a blast with her new *pet turtle*.

Last year, I made a birthday crown for my little one's 1st birthday. Now she's turning 2 soon. I saved the hat, and just revamped it to look new this year.

Need a last minute gift bag? You can make your own with a plain kraft paper grocery bag! I had an irregular shaped gift (helmet) that really couldn't be wrapped so this worked perfectly and only cost me .10 cents (for the kraft bag) and supplies I already had at home.

Here's a cute and simple craft using the cardboard centers from toilet paper. Use gold spray paint and embellishments to turn this trash into treasure. These make cute toppers for gifts, but you can also add elastic strings to them so they can be worn on your head securely.
Personalize Store Bought Party Hat
By 15mhhm15
It is hard to come by party hats with the age on it. Most of them are sold online and they can get expensive. This is a quick alternative.

There's still plenty of expired macaroni pasta and I need to do something so it won't just go to the trash bin. Then I thought I could make a collage-like greeting card from it.

This is one of the easiest and prettiest ways to make bookmarks. Ribbons and cords lie nicely between the pages. The beads not only make the bookmarks look pretty, but they also function as weights to hold the bookmark in place.
Autumn Leaves Jar Candle Holder
This beautiful candle holder is the perfect decoration for the fall. Learn how it was made in this video.

Instead of throwing out those cardboard tissue rolls, you can use them in this craft for your children. Make this craft together with them to enhanced their motor skills.

I have a long list of wreaths to make. Today this one just hit me as the one to shine!

Beaded key rings are easy to make and make a great gift. You can make them for bazaars, craft stalls, or charity sales too and if you choose bright colours they will attract people to your stall. You can also add more strings of beads and use this as a handbag charm.

This wreath can have a multi purpose if you choose. Because it is almost fall, the Dollar store has Halloween and fall items in stock. I found these great feather boas at the dollar store along with a black bird, colorful broom, hat, etc.

Use wired ribbon to create roses that can be made into pins or used to embellish shoes, picture frames, pillows, hair bands, or whatever you want. The longer the ribbon, the larger the flower.

Using shank buttons and bobby pins you can create fun and unique hair accessories that will make girls of any age smile.

I have a rather large collection of disposable wooden chopsticks from decades of restaurants and takeouts. After I use them, I wash them and keep them either in my utensil drawer for reuse or in a canister for future crafts. This trivet is one of my favourite chopstick crafts.

If you have any loom bands left behind from the recent craze, stuffed at the back of a cupboard somewhere, you can use them for this this mini banjo. It is colourful and easy to make and it doesn't make too much noise.

I wanted to post a few examples of five pointed, crochet stars. Thus far I have reworked one posted some time ago by one of our members and one taken from the Wool and Hook website. Today I am sharing an nifty star pattern designed by Melissa Masterton.

I crafted these earrings and a charm from slices of wine corks and scraps from the bottom of my bead box. I think they are pretty good value for around 20 cents per pair!
Recycle Towel Pieces into a Quilt Beach Towel
By Ann
I saw a post about recycling cloth towels by cutting them in to 12 inch squares and using them as cleaning rags. I thought "why not be creative and quilt those squares into new bath towels, beach towels or picnic blankets?"

I recently discovered that newspaper can make a great pulp to make faux foods. I've been wanting a faux cake to display on a cake platter.

Did I say "dying?" I meant "dyeing", as in dyeing material! I found a great new looking, three piece heavy duty bathroom rug set at a garage sale recently. They were priced for only $1 and looked great. The only problem? They were light blue, not the color I wanted for my bathroom.
Pink and Gold Themed Locker Decor
By lalala...
My daughter bought a few of these decorations at the store, but the rest were made by us in part to save money but also to have them fit her locker better.
I have an annoying habit of picking up orphaned sugar bowls, creamers, and little teapots that have no lids, as well as old planters too small for plants and vintage fabric scraps too small for anything, in hopes of finding creative uses for them.
