In recent decades, the area where this magnificent feline lives has reduced by 50 per cent due to the destruction of its habitat, illegal hunting, the reduction of food sources, and the human-jaguar conflict.
There are currently 170,000 jaguars living from Mexico to Argentina. Although this may sound like a lot, their future is uncertain – underlined by the recent fires in the Amazon that killed, injured or displaced between 400 and 1,500 jaguars.
International Jaguar Day takes place on Friday 29 November. Please use this opportunity to help this amazing animal! Show your support for this majestic big cat |
