Should you break up with us?

Dear Reader,

As far as we’re aware, the Agora group of publishing companies (of which Fat Tail Investment Research is a part) is the world’s biggest financial newsletter publishing company.

The business has representation in the US, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, UK, India, China, and right here in Australia.

And in Australia, specifically, we believe we are one of the biggest — if not the biggest — financial newsletter publishing companies. If we’re not, our competitors are welcome to drop us a line to correct the record.

The point of this isn’t to boast. It’s to recognise that Fat Tail Investment Research is no longer the relatively small, nuisance, fringe-dwelling business we were 15 years ago.

We’re almost mainstream.

Or, at least, ‘mainstream adjacent’.

And there’s the dilemma.

We set up here in Australia to be a constant nuisance to the mainstream.

Not to cosy up to it.

It’s a problem Agora founder Bill Bonner has been thinking about a lot lately.

It’s troubling him.

And, I have to say, it’s troubling me too.
