By Bob Warren Asking 'Why?': Whitney Wilson’s loved ones are left asking a question this week that might never be answered: Who fatally shot her as she drove on I-10 in New Orleans east with her daughter. And why? Crime seems to be on everyone's mind these days. On Thursday, NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson faced several hours of questions from the New Orleans City Council who want to know if the department has a crime-fighting plan. Money for the coast: The state wants to spend almost $1.3 billion on hurricane protection and coastal restoration efforts in 2023. The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority’s plan would be the most ever spent in a single year. Mystery at the circle: There's a mysterious object, wrapped in plastic, at the circle formerly known as Lee. Doug MacCash, naturally, checked it out.
