Good evening

The streets were scrubbed, the markers were laid out, the masks were at the ready and the anti-bacterial gel was pumped and primed.

But would the shoppers return for such a changed experience?

The answer seemed to be a solid yes as queues formed early doors on our high streets and pavements became full of socially distanced pedestrians keen for some retail therapy after more than three months adhering to lockdown rules and regulations.

Despite the rise in internet shopping and many still not willing to take the risk while Covid-19 is still a danger, many endeavoured to support local businesses.

Public transport was busy with travellers wearing the compulsory masks but bosses had to urge people to leave plenty of time to ensure a spot on the carefully spaced-out seats.

Meanwhile, shops have all made huge efforts to ensure as safe an experience as they possibly could and deserve our support, particularly local businesses and enterprises trying to survive.

Let’s #supportlancashire - safely.

We are keen to hear from local businesses to see how they are adapting to the new normal. Contact [email protected] and mark emails #supportlancashire
