21 to 24 March: Ocean Initiatives flagship weekend

This year again, Surfrider Europe invites all citizens to join an Ocean Initiative all accross Europe during the flagship weekend, from 21 to 24 March. Historic program of Surfrider, Ocean Initiatives raise awareness about the problem of marine litter by organizing litter collections at beaches, lakes, rivers, and seabeds. Join us this weekend!

"Beach art : Sea, Plastic, Sun" par Mikael Mourgue

Surfrider Art Campus will present "Beach Art: Sea, Plastic, Sun": a reinterpretation of found waste items into unique works of art. Mikael Mourgue aims to drive awareness around the dangers of overconsumption, human waste and plastic pollution which is destroying our ocean ecosystems.

When our coastlines are regularly confronted by large scale pollution and development issues, we need a leader that thinks big. Simon Witt not only takes great strides on the ground, but he’s also the driving force behind the success and progressive development of Surfrider Europe’s Surfrider Coastal Defenders program.

PADDLE FOR YOUR PLANET

PAS-DE-CALAIS CHAPTER

On the 2nd of February, 2019 the Pas-de-Calais Chapter had the opportunity to participate to the citizen event PADDLE FOR YOUR PLANET in Lille (North of France). This event was also supported by the Lille Paddle Club “The Roller Coaster” and the French Polynesian association “Heiporinetia”.

BELGIAN BOAT SHOW

BELGIAN COAST CHAPTER

During the Belgian Boat Show in Gent on 15-17th of February 2019, the Belgian Coast Chapter set up a great information stand dedicated to corporate environmental awareness. The goal was to educate citizens to marine litter via the campaigns “Reset your Habits” and “Ban the bag”.
