New Fall Hours
The summer is coming to an end and the OTL will be returning to our regular hours! 
Mondays 6pm – 9pm
Wednesdays 6pm – 9pm

Saturdays 10am – 1 pm

Note that we're closed Labour Day

We're starting a Tinkering School and Hiring a Coordinator
OTL’s pilot project of a Tinkering School will provide programming for children 8-12 years old with a focus on environmental education. 

The Tinkering School Coordinator will organize and run the Tinkering School, including developing the curriculum, sourcing the materials, and leading the instruction. More info on our website.

WorkSpace Safety & Orientation 101 Course

Ready to start working on your project in our NEW WorkSpace? This required course will teach you the safe usage of the following tools: band saw, mitre saw, drill press, drill, scroll saw, jig saw, and sander. PLUS you will receive a free one-month pass to use our WorkSpace.

Intro to Power Tools
Get geared up to do home renovations yourself! Power tools are often feared, but should not be. All it takes is some very simple instruction to get you well on your way to being able to do tons of DIY fixes and renos around your home.
In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to use all basic power tools safely, their common uses, and you'll leave with a beautiful triangular shelf!
This workshop is geared towards those who have little to no experience with power tools.

Due to the popularity of this workshop, we are now offering it MONTHLY!
Join us on Tuesday September 17th

September Repair Cafe
We're hosting our next Repair Café at Makerspace North on
Saturday, September 21st.
Fixers will be on hand to help you repair items like small appliances, clothing, chairs etc.
We are very excited that Sylvie Demers from
Mobile Optician Services will be on site to help with eyeglass repairs! 
Please email Rachel if you are interested in volunteering as a fixer or helping with the event!

Drywall Repair & Painting Workshop

Give your home a fresh, clean look! In this workshop, you will learn how to patch the most common types of drywall problems. Whether it's a hairline crack, small nail hole or a 10x10" gaping hollow in your wall, we will show you the right materials to use depending on the repair. 
We will also cover the basics of painting (both roller and brush).

How to Renovate your Bathroom Using a Contractor

Thinking of hiring someone to renovate your bathroom? At this demo night we'll have a contractor walk you through the complete renovation process - covering everything from permits, pricing, timelines, material selections, liability and insurance, as well as questions you should be asking your contractor.

💓Volunteer Appreciation Day💓

On Volunteer Appreciation Day, we made tie-dye tee-shirts, decorated the OTL bike for the pride parade and enjoyed a delicious BBQ together. We are so thankful to each and every one of you!

Workshop Coordinator 

We're looking for someone to join our Core Team! The Workshop Coordinator would be responsible for planning our monthly Community & Demo Nights on various home renovation subjects, exploring new partnerships and event opportunities, and attending our monthly Core Team meetings.
