1 day away from Saints' season opener

It's the eve of the Saints' 2021 season. And do we have a lot of stories for you to read on the day before Sunday's season opener against the Green Bay Packers in a game that will be played in Jacksonville, Fla.

The calendar says its September 11, meaning it's been 20 years since the terrorist attacks that changed our country. While many of us watched the news that Tuesday morning from miles and miles away, several people in the Saints' organization had a much closer view. I caught up with some of them this week to reflect on that horrific day. Read about here: 20 years later, a look back at 9/11 through the eyes of some Saints who will never forget.

Our Jeff Duncan takes a look at Sean Payton, who gets a chance to show just how good of a coach he is in the post Drew Brees era.

Saints beat writer Luke Johnson takes a deep dive into Saints' QB Jameis Winston and how he bounced back to get to this point.

While Winston replaces Brees at quarterback, it's Alvin Kamara who is now the face of the franchise. I take a look at why Kamara has earned that title.

Sean Payton also provided more details on the trade that brought Bradley Roby to New Orleans.

And finally, there was some not so good news for Sunday's game. Receiver Tre'Quan Smith and cornerback Ken Crawley were both added to the injured reserve list on Friday. Our Amie Just gives you that news plus all the other news from Friday's practice.
