seeing the true colors of people when you’re experiencing trauma

The true colors of loved ones, friends, and strangers come to life when experiencing a significant life event, trauma, or grief. That itself can add another layer of hurt and betrayal that then needs its own healing.

I don’t know why people choose to do this to those in pain. It’s likely their own stuff (ego, insecurities, entitlement) being deflected, but whatever it is, it’s not helpful to anyone. I am still recovering from the worst criticism, blame, judgment, and insult I’ve ever received for the traumatic event that was placed on my children and me BY CHOICE.

Those people and energy? BYE. Gotta say bye.

BUT, then there were those few, beautiful souls that were brave enough to listen.

Who looked me in the eyes.

Who showed up.

Who could see and feel the truth without a word.

Who were still there after I climbed the mountain.

Who knew my heart.

Who have always loved my kids and me.

REAL LOVE IS THAT KIND OF 💛 AND I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR IT.
