Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! Six years after first observing Andrew Kaufman’s transformative Books behind Bars class that is the subject of our film Seats at the Table, 2020 is the year the film is scheduled for wide national exposure. The film is being provided by American Public Television for broadcast to public tv stations across the U.S. beginning in May, 2020. We already have 182 stations committed to airing the film, and we expect that number to expand as we continue our efforts to generate interest. The upcoming public tv presentation will be a key step in fulfilling our mission of utilizing the film to inspire replication of this innovative educational model so that more of our youth will benefit from this life-changing experience.

There are also some significant screenings scheduled, one at Harvard Law School on February 26th, at Boston College on February 27th, and at the University of Virginia on March 23^rd.  Our goal is to create a series of screenings to inspire both educators and students.

We are presently attempting to sustain our outreach efforts by attracting underwriters’ support of the television broadcast.  Underwriters will be given a promotional spot at both the opening and closing of the broadcast, and this spot would also be presented at all future screenings and deliveries of the film.   We would appreciate any suggestions or connections that you might have to assist with this task.
