Help wanted: Public schools open Monday in Jefferson Parish. But the school district is still scrambling to fill a lot of teacher positions, Blake Paterson reports. Discrimination lawsuit: A federal judge has ruled that a lawsuit alleging discrimination against disabled students can move forward. The suit, which claims the Archdiocese of New Orleans discriminated against children with disabilities, had been put on hold by a bankruptcy court judge, Stephanie Riegel reports. Chief search narrows: New Orleans’ search for a new police chief is now down to three contenders. They include interim leader Michelle Woodfork, who scored third best out of the three finalists, John Simerman and Ben Myers report. Walking on the sun: So you already know it’s hot, right.
