Missing infant the latest mayhemBaton Rouge police this morning were looking for an infant abandoned in a field near the intersection of Plank and Hooper roads. Details were still coming in. Our James Finn is there as things develop. This of course follows another grim crime involving a child. Elyse Carmosino learned yesterday about the death of 2-year-old who had been reported missing along with his mother. Sources tell us that the child was thrown off a bridge alive last week, and the coroner's office said it looks like the cause of death could have been hypothermia.
Not so cheap, just less-expensiveIt'd be dishonest to say we've found cheap gas in the Baton Rouge area. Let's just say that Caitie Zeilman found gasoline at some stations that is less expensive than what is being sold at others.
How did the Blues start?Dan Aykroyd, channeling Tom Snyder in a 1977 skit with Ray Charles, posed the question: "What are the Blues and how do people get them?" This Friday, Chris Thomas King will talk about the origins of the Blues in an appearance at the West Baton Rouge Museum. In a new book, the son of Baton Rouge bluesman Tabby Thomas suggests the Blues grew out of the Creole experience in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas.
After lunchtime today, we're on the downhill side toward the weekend. We hope the rest of your week is a good one. |
