Screen International invites you to a virtual FYC screening for the film Commitment Hasan

From Golden Bear Award Winning Director, Semih Kaplanoğlu comes Commitment Hasan, the second part of the new Commitment Trilogy and Turkey’s official submission for Best International Feature Film.

It tells the story of Hasan, a farmer who grows and sells crops in the land inherited from his father. Hasan wants to get rid of the electric power pole that is going to be installed in the midst of his land, and tries to overcome the difficulties he faces by impacting the right of others, even those closest to him - a result of his obsessional commitment to property.

Commitment Hasan centers around the metaphysical and conscientious soul searching of characters with different identities from different classes and walks of life, and tries to discover the unique ‘meaning’ to all of us, and one which our assumed roles and identities in everyday life cannot explain.

Screen International has partnered with film market platform Archipel Market on a series of screenings focused on the awards race.
