Good evening,

I have to admit my spider senses began to twitch when the Government did a u-turn on the time between administering the two vaccines we will need to get immunity from Covid.

At first we were told 21 days was the optimum delay...but now it seems that three months will do the trick.

The World Health Organisation has come out to say that this is not its recommendation and that the 21-day period is what is required.

Medics themselves seem to be wavering on this with one nurse from Lancashire launching a petition to get the three-week delay reinstated.

Reading between the lines, it seems pretty clear what is happening.

The virus is running riot and one jab is enough to give most people 70 per cent protection and means it is unlikely you will become seriously ill. So this is a way of saving lives and keeping the NHS running in the short term.

Whether it may store up more problems for the future is another matter altogether.

If this is the case, the government just needs be honest with us all - we are all grown ups!
