S.C. attorney general investigating Facebook

Alan Wilson is working with counterparts from 47 states to investigate possible antitrust violations by the social media platform. The attorneys general announced the investigation Tuesday.

S.C. Manufacturing Conference set to be largest yet

When the 2019 S.C. Manufacturing Conference and Expo gets underway Tuesday, it will feature 275 exhibitors, more than 3,000 attendees and speakers representing government and industry, making it the state's largest manufacturing conference to date.

Boeing to cut 787 production rate

Boeing Co. plans to cut the production rate of 787 airplanes to 12 per month beginning in late 2020, a reduction that company leadership attributed to the current trade environment between the U.S. and China. Boeing currently produces 14 787s per month between its Everett, Wash., and North Charleston facilities.

Richland County taking over Transportation Penny Program

Richland County will take over management of the Transportation Penny Program on Nov. 4 in a move the county says will save money and improve oversight. The program had been managed by a private development team.

Memorial to honor longtime Five Points leader Van Loan

Col. Jack Van Loan will be honored at a ceremony on Saturday at Five Points Centennial Plaza, where a bronze statue honoring the longtime Five Points leader stands. Van Loan died Oct. 14 at the age of 87. The ceremony begins at 1:45 p.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
