Bank of S.C. reports Q2 loss of nearly $500,000

Despite the losses, bank President Fleetwood S. Hassell said the bank is doing well in mortgages and deposits. The bank also originated 266 loans totaling more than $37 million as part of the federal Payroll Protection Program.

Clemson launches AI research institute

Clemson University is consolidating ongoing and future artificial intelligence research and education led by 80 faculty members under one roof. The insitute will also serve as a base for the school's STEM workforce development programs.

MLILY USA expanding Winnsboro mattress factory

The expansion will create 65 jobs and increase production at the 650,000-square-foot facility by more than 4,000 units a day. The additional jobs will bring the factory to full employment with 250 workers.

Mauldin's Duke's plant closes temporarily due to COVID-19

Mauldin’s Duke’s Mayonnaise plant temporarily closed after employees tested positive for COVID-19 for a period of deep cleaning and mandatory testing.

Construction begins on the Palms on Lady residential tower

The luxury residential tower at the corner of Lady and Assembly streets will feature 83 apartments ranging in size from 466 to 1,172 square feet. Construction is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2022.
