Summerville’s Metalworx has been acquired by a Jrlon Inc., a custom manufacturer in New York. Metalworx brings key assets, certifications, an established customer base and more. Employees will continue working out of Summerville.

Greenville’s Arcpoint Labs goes local to grow nationally

Arcpoint Labs, a diagnostic testing company based in Greenville, selects the franchise real estate division of an Upstate firm to help grow its nationwide footprint. Arcpoint Labs launched its franchising program in 2006 and built a national network of 100 locations in less than a decade.

South Carolina maintains high bond ratings

The state’s triple-A ratings from Moody’s and Fitch Ratings have been reaffirmed, as has its AA Plus rating from Standard & Poor’s, according to S.C. Treasurer Curtis Loftis.

S.C. colleges and universities receive scholarship funding

Schools throughout the state including Columbia College, Benedict College and Allen University received a share of $60,000 through a grant from the Council of Independent Colleges’ scholarship program, endowed by UPS.

Upstate school districts rank highest for career readiness

Two Upstate school districts rank in among the top three districts in the state for career readiness, according to a S.C. School District Finance and Performance Dashboard created by one Palmetto State think tank.
