State launches mobile irrigation laboratory pilot project

Selected farmers can have their irrigation systems audited for water and energy use in the 3-year pilot Mobile Irrigation Laboratory project. The project will help determine if a permanent, free program can be offered to S.C. farmers.

Turbines company selects site for demonstration project

BarberWind Turbines LLC, a wind technology company based in Greenville, has selected Concordia, Kan., as the demonstration site for their second-generation mid-sized wind turbine. The project will be located about seven miles south of Concordia town center, according to a news release.

Cyber research project to be hosted in Charleston, Savannah

West Point’s cyber institute and a Washington, D.C.-based consultant will hold the third edition of the Jack Voltaic Cyber Research Project in Charleston and Savannah. The exercise brings together public and private-sector partners to examine cyberattacks.

COG takes on governance of TriCounty Link

The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments board of directors has assumed governance of TriCounty Link, the region’s rural public transportation service. TriCounty Link had previously been governed by its own board of directors.

SCETV receives $296,257 grant to support project

The National Endowment for the Humanities grant will support Reconstruction 360, a project detailing the Reconstruction era through videos, films and an immersive website. The SCETV project is 1 of 188 nationwide to receive NEH funding.
