Mark your calendars (!!) MozFest 2022 is going to take place online on March 7-10, 2022.
4 days of workshops, discussions, skill shares, art installations, immersive experiences, games and connecting with old and new friends. From our homes, offices, laptops and phones. Reaching across countries, languages, local issues and global movements.
The momentum starts now! MozFest should not be seen as a time bound event. Just like the internet health movement, it is active and connected year-round. We invite you to join us to start planning now: examine what issues your session will tackle; identify your co-facilitators; dream up the folks who will gather around your workshop; prepare to build with the global MozFest community!
Get ready to submit your ideas to the Call for Proposals, which will be launching OCTOBER 11, 2021. Stay tuned to our newsletter and Slack channel to learn about early session releases, to join community meet ups and to meet the wranglers of MozFest 2022.
MozFest House: Amsterdam Going virtual this past year presented opportunities for growth in the face of myriad challenges. Despite so much uncertainty, MozFest 2021 re-established the power of community, the need for connectedness online, and the importance of safe, open, and accessible digital spaces. We are taking these learnings into MozFest 2022.
We are going to do what we do best: experiment. We are about to face another year with plenty of unknowns and so much disparity around the world regarding travel regulations and healthcare access, and we have heard from you during community calls that many of you will not be ready to travel in March. So MozFest Virtual will be the main event.
But we have also heard from folks that they are so eager to connect face to face. So, MozFest is about to get local. Globally.
We are going to experiment with a nodal event model â a live event that will be coordinated and programmed locally â that can be deployed, iterated and evolved across our community. Anywhere. Everywhere.
From March 25-27, 2022 we are hoping to kick off our first in-person event live from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, called MoFest House: Amsterdam. We will support partners, allies and friends so they can host sessions, installations, workshops and talks for a local audience. We invite you to join MozFest as we begin planning and strategizing around important issues now, in the lead up to the festival, during the live event, and in the months that follow. Bring your most urgent work and dearest communities, so we can together build a safe, and trustworthy digital world for us all.
