In March, the EBF and SAS will launch a joint virtual series of masterclasses bringing together AML experts to explore the most advanced technology solutions for AML. Unlike conventional courses on the subject, which focus primarily on the regulatory and operational aspects of AML, this series will spotlight how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning can boost the effectiveness of banks’ efforts in fighting financial crime. Demystifying AI for Anti-Money Laundering Thursday 31 March | 3:00 PM CET - 9:00 AM EST | ONLINE The first Masterclass will focus on innovations with machine learning and AI in AML transaction monitoring. During this session, we will demystify AI by learning how it works and what stands behind machine learning technology. Our experts will explore the opportunities for enhancing AML transactions via shared transaction monitoring facilities while discussing how these fit into the current regulatory framework. New Technologies for KYC Thursday 19 May | 3:00 PM CET - 9:00 AM EST | ONLINE The second Masterclass will examine the ways new technologies can facilitate the Know Your Customer (KYC) and customer due diligence processes. We will delve into the legislative developments in the fielld and show how solutions such as digital identification and network visualization can improve the transparency and efficiency of customer onboarding. Closing event Tuesday 14 June | BRUSSELS Following the online Masterclass sessions - and aligning with the ACAMS Europe Conference in June 2022 - the EBF and SAS will round up with an in-person social event in Brussels (subject to the COVID-19 situation and measures). There, a panel of AML experts will lead a discussion and live Q&A on how banks can embed advanced analytics into their AML frameworks. More information to come in Spring.
