| By KASEY BUBNASH | Staff writer | Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here are some of today's top headlines. Intruder alert: Saltwater is again intruding up the Mississippi River from the Gulf of Mexico, the result of a lack of rainfall in the Midwest, posing a possible threat in the weeks ahead to Plaquemines Parish. But don't panic yet. It's too soon to tell whether this year's reduced river flow will match last year's unusual event. Mark Schleifstein has the details. Rice lawsuit: A recent lawsuit aims to curtail some of the New Orleans City Council's power — and it wasn’t brought by the Cantrell administration. The plaintiff is lawyer Charles Rice, a former city attorney who also led Entergy New Orleans during a particularly memorable scandal in 2018. Ben Myers explains. Drifting: The Drifter Hotel has built a reputation for its hipster pool culture and "resortlike vibe" on a historically seedy strip that's still growing into something a little more upscale. Now the hotel is being sold to a group of investors with big plans to expand in New Orleans. Tony McAuley has the story.
