NATIONAL: Facebook is hosting its eighth annual Connect Event virtually this year on Oct. 28. The event, which will showcase the brand's latest innovations in AR/VR as well as Facebook's vision for the metaverse, is free to all attendees and will begin with a keynote address followed by various breakout and development sessions. ARLINGTON, VA: The Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau recently named Brent DeRaad as its new president and CEO. DeRaad has served as the president and CEO of Visit Tucson and will begin his new position in early December. Prior to this endeavor, DeRaad has over 20 years of hospitality leadership, sales and marketing experience. AUSTIN: The Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo will return to the Austin Convention Center from Dec. 6-8. The expo hosts architects, designers, contractors and more, who bring new ideas and share research regarding the constantly changing healthcare industry. There will be panels and keynote speakers as well as an expo floor with over 100 healthcare solutions and providers. MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: Bill Hansen Catering and Event Production recently announced its new collaboration with chef Aaron Dreilinger to launch Mitzvahs & More, a new Kosher catering service for Jewish events in the area. The new partnership combines Bill Hansen's 41 years in the industry with Dreilinger's experience in providing Mitzvahs and gourmet Kosher food to the community. NEW YORK: The American Ballet Theater's Fall Gala is returning Oct. 26 for the first time since 2019. The event will be held at the David H. Koch Theater and will have a performance and dinner.
