The Lunch Line: Saints will refund season tickets after all; 'Redneck Riviera' is a COVID hotspot

By Bob Warren

Calling an audible: The Saints reversed field and said the team will offer refunds to season ticket holders who want out this season, which will start at least with mask and vaccination requirements. The move comes after  Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry blasted the previous no-refund policy.

The Saints QB is . . .: Speaking of the Saints, columnist Rod Walker says the Jameis Winston-Taysom Hill QB race is still thisclose. But he's willing to stick his neck out and tell us who should be the starter . . .

Tough call: First Jazz Fest. Then the French Quarter Festival. They're the biggest of the long list of events and festivals that canceled due of the latest surge in COVID cases. Music writer Keith Spera says they made the correct, if painful, choice.

A very good boy indeed: A dog story? With a happy ending? Sign me up! Check this one out from contributing writer Katy Reckdahl about a particularly good boy named Cheddar. Enjoy!

Also in the news: Nursing home COVID deaths climbed last week, but now it appears nursing home staffers will have to get vaccinated. And the "Redneck Riviera" of Gulf Shores is a COVID hotspot, some health officials there say.

Hope you enjoyed the Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us.
