Welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Thursday, Nov. 3. The Saints' 24-0 shutout of the Las Vegas Raiders was a rare event by NFL standards. So rare that Tyrann Mathieu couldn't remember ever doing it before in his NFL career. Spoiler alert: He has. Still, as beat reporter Terrin Waack reports, it doesn't happen every often, and the Saints defense is using the performance as a benchmark for the rest of the season. The Saints made an interesting roster move on Wednesday, the players' day off. They signed a veteran quarterback to the roster, beat reporter Luke Johnson reports. We'll have more news this week as the Saints begin to ramp up preparation for their Monday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens at the Superdome. Be sure to check out the dedicated Saints page on Nola.com to be sure. Cheers, Jeff Duncan |
