Safe Net Zero Hydrogen 2024 - First Speaker Announcement |
Safe Net Zero eBulletin from HSE Last month we launched the next date in our Safe Net Zero - Hydrogen event series. Safety considerations for materials used in hydrogen environments will take place in February 2024 and focuses on a key theme that many in industry, academia, research and development are keen to explore: the selection, technical performance and safety of materials used in hydrogen environments. Weve already had sign-up from manufacturers, retailers, transport and logistics providers, insurers and speciality materials innovators all keen to be part of the safety conversation. The event will feature material technologies most eminent thought leaders and today were delighted to announce Cameron Blackwell from the Manufacturing Technology Centre and Marcus Walls-Bruck from the National Composites Centre as two of our event speakers. Well be announcing further additions to the line-up soon, so keep an eye on our event page for the latest updates. Until then, secure your place now and benefit from our early bird discounted rate. At the end of November, HSE hosted the 2nd consortium meeting of the ELVHYS project, followed by a stakeholder research workshop, at its Science and Research Centre in Buxton, Derbyshire. The project partners and stakeholder advisory board discussed the projects extensive experimental research programme and how it will address the current knowledge gaps regarding the safety of liquid hydrogen (LH2) transfer and operations. Presentations from the workshop, including HSEs experimental work on large-scale LH2 releases as part of the PRESLHY project, can be found on the ELVHYS website. | | As we draw a close on 2023, HSE can be proud of another year at the forefront of pioneering research into the safe development and deployment of hydrogen energy technologies, enabling industry to innovate safely to prevent major incidents, supporting the move towards net zero. Our hydrogen timeline documents our key achievements. | | |
