Join us for a LH2 workshop |
Safe Net Zero eBulletin from HSE Its less than two weeks to go before the HSE Science and Research Centre will host members and stakeholders of the ELVHYS consortium for their second project meeting, followed by a workshop which is open to anyone with an interest in this area of research. ELVHYS is an project conducting research to understand and increase the safety of handling liquid and cryogenic hydrogen in transport refuelling operations. The workshop entitled Experimental research and case studies of cryogenic hydrogen incidents will be held virtually on 29 November 2023 and will provide an overview of the project work currently in progress. The ELVHYS project is just one of a number of current research projects making use of HSE's liquid hydrogen testing facility. This 2.5 tonne cryogenic road tanker stores liquid hydrogen at -253 degrees C and right now is a unique and strategically important facility in the UK for research into this current topic. | | Following the success of our hydrogen safety conference back in March, HSE Training and Events is planning a follow-on deep dive event for 2024, as part of the Safe Net Zero series. Safety considerations for materials used in hydrogen environments will take place in February 2024 andfocuses on a key theme that many in industry, academia, research and development are keen to explore: the selection, technical performance and safety of materials used in hydrogen environments. More details to follow next week! | | |
