Rotary members respond to Hurricane Matthew aftermath

Rotary members have been working with Rotary’s project partner for disaster relief, ShelterBox, to respond to the humanitarian needs that have arisen following Hurricane Matthew’s destructive path through Haiti and along the coast of the United States, impacting communities in Florida, Georgia, and South and North Carolina, USA. ShelterBox is currently sending supplies to help with a cholera outbreak in the southern region of Haitia. Learn how you can help.

ERADICATING POLIO

Skydivers raise thousands for polio eradication

Rotary members have gone to great lengths, and heights, to raise money for polio eradication. Rotarians in Michigan, USA, and Toronto, Canada, organized a pair of skydives, jumping out of a plane at 14,000 feet strapped in tandem with a professional skydiver to raises pledges to help end polio.

Sarah Sanderson, a Rotary Peace Fellow at International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan, used her applied field experience to intern at the U.S. Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique.
