Changes for the new Rotary year

In April, Rotary members from around the world met at the Council on Legislation, taking action to grant clubs greater flexibility in their meeting schedule and membership. These changes took effect 1 July.

A proud Rotary son

Bill Pollard joined Rotary in 1988, after being invited to a club meeting by a neighbor and retired member of his profession, Tommy Adkins. His mother recommended he join, and it wasn’t long before she also became a member. In July, Pollard watched proudly as his mother was sworn in as president of her club.

SAVING MOTHERS AND CHILDREN

Peace Fellow is improving access to health care for refugees

Rebecca Bartlett, a 2014-16 Rotary Peace Fellow from Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, spent her fellowship year thinking about how to improve access to health care for refugees and other vulnerable populations. With the support of Rotary members, she launched mAdapt, a project to connect refugees in Europe with information to meet their health care needs.
