Rosa the Wonder Dog From Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lessons Learned from My Dog By Kiesa Kay A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. ~Josh Billings Icicles hung clear and cold from the porch roof, but Rosa The Wonder Dog needed her walk. I sighed deeply and put on my heavy down jacket, snapped on her leash, and started out the door. As my feet crunched into the snow, I realized I’d left my hiking boots in the house and had worn my everyday walking shoes, but it didn’t seem to matter much. We’d walk our regular route along Blue Grass Lane, with a turn onto White Oak and then back up our lane again. The song of the creek beckoned though, so we decided to go just a bit farther, past my friend Martha’s big white house and across the bridge. The sun shone brightly on the snow, delighting us with silvery sparkles. As we got to a snowy field, I threw a stick for my black Lab mix to catch, and she caught it and buried it in the snow instead of bringing it back to me.
