We are so back! With landing spots secured, all that is left to do is speculate for months on end. Before we know it, August preseason action will be upon us! Let's go!
Dynasty Rookie Rankings (Positional)
Quarterback
QB1 -- Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
QB2 -- Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
QB3 -- Jalen Milroe, Seattle Seahawks
QB4 -- Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
QB5 -- Shedeur Sanders, Cleveland Browns
QB6 -- Dillon Gabriel, Cleveland Browns
QB7 -- Will Howard, Pittsburgh Steelers
QB Risers
I already had Dart and Milroe ranked as QB2 and QB3, so nothing changed there. Dart rose slightly in my overall rankings with Round 1 capital attached to his name, and Milroe dropped slightly. The notable riser is Shough. I have been hesitant to buy into his hype, but this landing spot forces my hand. It's possible that Shough and Ward are the only rookie quarterbacks who see meaningful NFL snaps in Year 1.
QB Fallers
We all know who it is. I had Sanders ranked as QB4 entering the draft, he's now QB5. I'm not interested in him for Fantasy, but there's a possibility that he could play as a rookie. He presents a lottery ticket for Superflex drafters.

We took some serious hits at the RB position. Many NFL decision makers have been cited as willing to wait it out at the position because of the overwhelming depth in the 2025 class, and so, I'm not sure how to react to the draft capital info that we gained. Is Brashard Smith a Round 7 talent? No, in most drafts, Smith probably would have been selected in Round 4.
We saw players like Dylan Sampson and DJ Giddens selected by franchises that did not have a need at RB, and my guess is that was a result of difference in philosophy -- those teams might have simply decided to take the best player available, even though it was not at a position of need. In reality, those two may have had Round 3 grades for most teams, but NFL decision makers were playing a game of chicken at the RB position. We saw several "RB runs" occur -- when one team decided to pull the trigger, a ripple effect followed. From picks 2-15 in Round 4, Tuten, Skattebo, Etienne, Marks, and Hunter all went off the board. The Niners took Jordan James at pick 9 in Round 5, immediately followed by RB selections at pick 12 and 14. Similar runs occurred in Rounds 6 and 7.
I'm not sure what the best way to view the draft capital conundrum is. I'm thinking about it out loud. It feels irresponsible to cling to pre-draft value assessments and rank Round 6 or 7 running backs over Round 3 receivers, but I find myself pulled in that direction in several instances.
Risers
I never would have guessed that Blue would rank as a top-10 back from this class. I definitely prefer the prospect profiles for Sampson and Hunter, and both were selected ahead of Blue, so feel free to adjust however feels right to you. Blue brings receiving and big-play upside, which is intriguing as he joins a backfield that previously offered neither. The Cowboys didn't address a glaring need at WR, so this offense will be strapped for playmaking beyond CeeDee Lamb.
Harvey's stamp of approval was so freaking awesome. The track record for 24-year-old running back prospects is not good, but the track record for running backs selected early by Sean Payton is very good.
Johnson got the tailor-made system fit in Pittsburgh, and Tuten landed in the highly-coveted Liam Coen-engineered offense. There is a clear tier-break after Tuten at the RB position, in my opinion.
Monangai was the biggest late-round riser for me, as he not only beat out Raheim Sanders and Corey Kiner for a draft selection but also landed in a Chicago backfield that could present opportunities. I also moved Smith up my rankings a bit, even with Round 7 capital. The Chiefs traded up to get him. I'm excited to see Andy Reid's vision. Brooks predictably moved down my rankings, but I do think that his landing spot in Cincinnati is a positive. The Bengals only had six draft picks and used four of them on two positions, so using one of the other two on a RB was noteworthy. Cincy easily could have waited until after the draft to add a UDFA. Instead, Brooks was hand-picked. He's a perfect fit for the man-gap power running that Cincy does, and he might beat out Zack Moss as the preferred pass-protector in the backfield.
Fallers
Martinez, Sampson, and Giddens highlight the list for me. They feel buried. I'll probably grab them as cheap bench stashes in rookie drafts where they're available for cheap, but I was hoping for much more. The same goes for my boy Rocket Sanders. Sad. He has his work cut out for him if he's going to prove the NFL wrong. I believe! He'll be on all of my taxi squads!
Wide Receiver
WR1 -- Travis Hunter, Jacksonville Jaguars
WR2 -- Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers
TIER BREAK
WR3 -- Luther Burden, Chicago Bears
WR4 -- Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers
WR5 -- Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
WR6 -- Tre Harris, Los Angeles Chargers
WR7 -- Jayden Higgins, Houston Texans
WR8 -- Kyle Williams, New England Patriots
TIER BREAK
WR9 -- Jaylin Noel, Houston Texans
WR10 -- Jack Bech, Las Vegas Raiders
WR11 -- Isaac TeSlaa, Detroit Lions
TIER BREAK
WR12 -- Elic Ayomanor, Tennessee Titans
WR13 -- Tory Horton, Seattle Seahawks
WR14 -- Jalen Royals, Kansas City Chiefs
WR15 -- Savion Williams, Green Bay Packers
WR16 -- Pat Bryant, Denver Broncos
WR17 -- Dont'e Thornton, Las Vegas Raiders
TIER BREAK
WR18 -- KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Los Angeles Chargers
WR19 -- Tai Felton, Minnesota Vikings
WR20 -- Xavier Restrepo, Tennessee Titans
WR21 -- Ricky White, Seattle Seahawks
WR22 -- Elijhah Badger, Kansas City Chiefs
Risers
It was not Luther Burden, but Jayden Higgins who was the fifth receiver selected in this class. He'll get to play with C.J. Stroud as part of a receiver room with an already-present dominant X-receiver. This frees Higgins up to fill his ideal role as "big slot." The only reason that he's not even higher in my rankings is my fierce belief that Jaylin Noel is one of the best wide receivers in this draft class. Higgins better ball out! He's already proven capable of convincing Iowa State to make him the primary first-read option over Noel, and he clearly convinced the Texans that he was worth investing in!
New England grabbing Kyle Williams with the fifth pick in Round 3 was a huge vote of confidence, and he could quickly become Drake Maye's favorite target. Legit separation skills showed up all over the speedster's collegiate film.
Bech and TeSlaa were players who I was cautiously optimistic about in spite of uninspiring data profiles. Both are huge winners following the NFL Draft. The Lions signaled some serious belief in TeSlaa's enigmatic skill set by trading multiple Round 3 picks to move up and secure his talent. I'm not sure how many targets Bech will be able to earn as a rookie playing alongside Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers in an offense that will surely center around Ashton Jeanty. But, his Round 2 draft capital is undeniably a fantastic start to his career!
Three more players with noteworthy draft capital:
Savion Williams was a true shock of a pick to the Packers in Round 3. I'm intrigued.
I liked Pat Bryant's film but had him penciled in as a Day 3 pick. The Broncos used an early Round 3 pick to grab him with Noel and Jalen Royals still on the board!
One of the first names called on Day 3 was Dont'e Thornton Jr.. A six-foot-five speed threat out of Tennessee with awesome underlying data, Thornton will be one of the NFL's most intriguing players to monitor this preseason.
Fallers
Elic Ayomanor may have a path to playing time as a rookie, but it was definitely disappointing to see 19 receivers leave the board before his name was called. Be careful investing in him this draft season. The 19th receiver selected before Ayomanor was Jalen Royals . Players who were barely on my radar -- namely, Arian Smith, Jaylin Lane, and Chimere Dike -- were selected ahead of him. The landing spot is awesome, as Royals may become Rashee Rice's replacement in a couple of years, but his already-risky profile looks decidedly worse with late Round 4 draft capital attached to it.
Tory Horton belongs in this group, unfortunately. He was the 23rd receiver selected. I've legitimately never heard of Jordan Watkins, and the 49ers picked him ahead of Horton. Seattle landed him with pick 30 in Round 5. I love the skill set, and there's a chance that Horton gets on the field during his rookie season. It also could be a redshirt year, we don't know where he's at in his recovery.
Tight End
TE1 -- Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
TIER BREAK
TE2 -- Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
TIER BREAK
TE3 -- Terrance Ferguson, Los Angeles Rams
TE4 -- Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns
TE5 -- Mason Taylor, New York Jets
TE6 -- Elijah Arroyo, Seattle Seahawks
TE7 -- Gunnar Helm, Tennessee Titans
TIER BREAK
TE8 -- Oronde Gadsden II, Los Angeles Chargers
TE9 -- Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers
TE10 -- Thomas Fideone II, New York Giants
Risers
I expected to be on an island in ranking Fannin ahead of Taylor. That's no surprise, and I don't blame anyone who prefers Taylor's set of circumstances entering the NFL. I am content taking a shot on Fannin's upside, given that he received early Round 3 draft capital. The real surprise, to me, is that people are ranking Taylor ahead of Ferguson. Taylor was picked well ahead of Fannin. He was only picked four spots ahead of Ferguson.
Both Ferguson and Taylor were drafted into situations where a real role might be available in Year 1, and Ferguson is on a much better team. He also displayed more receiving upside as a collegiate player and tested as a better athlete. Ferguson is my clear preference of the two and is my biggest TE winner from the NFL Draft.
I was psyched to see Helm not fall far on Day 3. He tested through an ankle injury, which can't be held against him, but also did not provide clarity on his athleticism. To see an NFL franchise still willing to bet on the skill set with a Round 4 pick is exciting.
Another intriguing skill set bet that I noticed was the LA Chargers grabbing Oronde Gadsden II in Round 5. I'm not sure where he'll play -- tight end or receiver -- but this guy can play!
Fallers
I legitimately didn't have any clear fallers at the TE position. The players who I liked received healthy draft capital, and several landed in offenses that need tight end help. Even Day 3 picks like Helm and Evans are on rosters with uncertainty at the TE1 spot.

TE+ Notes:
Loveland over Ward feels notable. Both are premium position players in this format, and Ward carries the higher draft capital. I ranked Loveland ahead of him, though, because I believe his game translates in a more Fantasy-friendly way. Ward doesn't offer the rushing upside to become a top-five Fantasy QB without complete outlier outcomes as a passer. Loveland has a clear track to providing elite TE upside. We've already seen Ben Johnson create an elite Fantasy TE season with rookie Sam LaPorta. If you haven't seen this clip , enjoy the exuberance with which Johnson addresses Loveland after selecting him with his first NFL Draft pick as a head coach!
The range that I have Fannin Jr. in is the absolute highest that I felt comfortable pushing him. That's where I'm at with him. I'm enamored by the prospect profile, and early Round 3 draft capital is enough for me to be willing to be aggressive in stashing him in TE+ formats. He could pile up receptions and be an absolute Fantasy point printer in this format. If you need 2025 help, feel free to pass on Fannin for the players around him. The wide receivers in that range are more-likely to get on the field as rookies.
Superflex Notes:
Jalen Milroe mirrors Fannin Jr. nearly identically, from a philosophical drafting standpoint. He offers massive upside for this format, but he might not contribute anything in Year 1 or even Year 2. And if a player makes it to Year 3 without contributing, it becomes extremely unlikely that they will help your Fantasy team at any point. That kind of risk exists for Milroe, don't ignore it. Where I have him ranked is the absolute highest that I was comfortable pushing him.

Even without an obvious path to playing time, Milroe is someone who I want to invest in heavily during draft season. Vibes are off the charts in Seattle!
