Election 2022 Aftermath... |
Official: Republicans win control of the House of Representatives, ending Democratic control of Congress CBS, CNN, the Associated Press, the NY Times, and NBC all projected Republicans would win with more than the 218 seats needed to have a House majority, possibly possessing 221 seats, by one estimate. House Republicans pass first wave of rule changes for new majority The GOP is saving more controversial rule change proposals for after Thanksgiving but voted in favor of a change to how a speaker of the House could be ousted from power. A House popular vote majority produced few seats but is a good sign for Republicans in 2024 One of the puzzles in this year’s surprising and unpredicted (including by me) off-year election results is why the Republicans’ 51% to 47% win in the popular vote for House of Representatives did not produce a majority bigger than the apparent final margin. Rep. Waltz: We Have to Figure out How to Handle Blue-State Voting Laws, Mail Voting Can Work for GOP "The states determine how elections are conducted. It’s in the Constitution. Karen Bass Beats Rick Caruso In LA Mayoral Race: Projection The projection was made by DecisionDeskHQ on Wednesday, with Bass holding 53.06% of the vote and Caruso holding 46.94%.
