On Saturday, after initially seeking to ban Christian street preachers from praying, singing, handing out Bibles, or initiating conversations about faith, it was announced that a U.K. council has withdrawn its legal action after facing significant opposition from the community.
This week also saw Robert Morris, the founder of Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, make an appearance in Osage County Court, Oklahoma, ahead of his preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 4. Morris is facing charges on five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child that stem from allegations of abuse against Cindy Clemishire in the 1980s beginning when she was 12, and he was a traveling evangelist.
