We just received a report on some of the recent data from Israel, and it’s clear that Israel's economy is struggling. One glaring example is the soaring prices of essential goods like dairy products. Unsupervised market reforms have led to these price hikes, with producers exploiting consumer needs while government approvals continue to fuel the increases. Dairy products and their substitutes now make up more than 13% of household expenses, with an annual expenditure of about NIS 5,000. Any significant price increase puts additional strain on household budgets and burdens consumers.

There are many technical economic reasons behind the rising prices of dairy, but what’s most important is the impact on the people of Israel. The economic instability due to the ongoing war and the potential escalation with Iran is hurting everyone.
