Coronavirus fines are “muddled, discriminatory and unfair”, according to a group of MPs and peers who have called for a review of all of those issued under lockdown laws.
View email online | | | | | Apr 27, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, The pandemic and resultant lockdown had one thing going for it made us appreciate the simple things - and school. Mainly school. For parents and for children, the closure of schools has the biggest impact on everyday lives and home schooling and learning alone became normality. There have been many ups to this situation but most children were keen to return and see their friends and teachers and parents even keener for them to do so. This is probably why pupil attendance in state schools in England last week was the highest it has been at any point during the pandemic, Government figures have suggested. It’s a relief to be back but the impact on a generation cannot be underestimated. Research shows some children are struggling on return, with literacy levels behind. Communication can be a struggle even if the digital divide has been levelled out a bit. But at least we are back on track with education and those youngsters who have found it hard to adjust at home are now embraced back into the system and will get the helping hand they need. On another note, we are keen to see your pictures of tonight's super-moon for possible use in the paper and online.
