2018 OPPS proposed rule: 340B drug program changes would impact all hospitals

The 2018 OPPS proposed rule is one of the shortest, and latest, in recent memory being released July 13 at only 663 pages, but it contains major proposed policy changes for the 340B drug discount program, new modifiers, and expands packaging to drug administration for the first time.

“Remember, all of us respond so much better to positive feedback—so it is often best to report audit and monitoring results and other key performance data in terms of percent or numbers correct as opposed to error rates, and don’t forget to complement those that do something well because they are more likely to listen when you need to ask them to change something else,” says Valerie Rinkle, MPA.
