Revamping a Kid's Lunch Box

By StellaBell

Revamping a Kid's Lunch Box - finished lunch boxMy son decided that he no longer liked his Spiderman lunch box and was refusing to use it in the new school year. I told him I could try and paint it, but I couldn't promise that it would be beautiful. We worked out the design together and got to work on turning his Spiderman lunch box into a BB-8, from Starwars, lunch box.

Halloween "Trick or Treat" Card

By attosa

Halloween I just love smiling ghosts... as opposed to creepy grumpy ones! :D They are so cute, and have been an icon for Halloween for decades. You can make this vertical-standing card if you don't have a ghost stamp like I used here. I've attached a ghost and "trick or treat" wording print-out if you'd like to use them.

Paper Card Organizer - organizer partially open The advantage of doing this project is that you can change designs anytime you want. This cost less or if you are creative enough, you can even make some out of recycled magazines almost for free. It would work well to store loyalty or bonus type cards.

Minimizing Damage from Hot Glue Burns While Crafting

By Ivey

Minimizing Damage from Hot Glue Burns While CraftingIf you craft a lot, then you most likely own a hot-glue gun. If so, you are surely familiar with the nasty burns that inevitably come with using one! Hot glue is very painful and continues to burn your skin for several minutes after contact. I always keep a bowl of ice-water within easy reach on my work surface.

Raised Salt Fall Kids' Artwork

By Benetta

Raised Salt Fall Kids' Artwork - paint the remaining squares with brown and orange and allow to dryLately I have started using food colorings with the kids in my art class, as it is more cost effective and adds bolder colors to the end product. Combining food colorings with salt and glue offers a great technique for kids to explore their own creativity.

Use Vinegar When Lengthening Garments

By Judy

ironing with a press clothSometimes when you lengthen a garment the crease line from the previous hem remains. The way to get rid of that is to moisten the crease with vinegar, and iron on the hottest setting allowable for the fabric. I always use a press cloth to protect the fabric.
