The news about the corona virus can be overwhelming for the healthiest person, but if you have a disease like diabetes all you hear is how much more risk you have of serious complications. Typically the news feeds don’t fully explain the whole story and often only the worst is presented. Newsflash: Safety Recall for Some Generic Metformins; Medicare Insulin Price Cap; ADA COVID-19 Resources FDA Finds Carcinogen in Some Generic Versions of Metformin: U.S. regulators are contacting pharmaceutical companies that make long-acting metformin medications. The FDA discovered N-Nitrosodimethylamine, or NDMA, beyond acceptable amounts in some extended-release versions of metformin. About 21 million prescriptions for the extended-release version were written in the U.S. last year. This recall has been announced:
