| Lot 194 – China, coins, Xianfeng (1851-1861) 100 cash (2), Fuzhou, Fujian Province, circa 1853-55. Sold for £14,800 (inc fees) Our Seasonal Summer Auction brought with some glorious sunshine and some strong results. The highlights of the sale came from the Jewellery and Silver departments which included a single stone diamond ring realising £14,000 and a George V silver study of The Warwick Vase which made £9,000. Asian Art Specialist Alexander Clement was delighted with the results of two lots of Chinese coins, 194 and 195, as of course was the vendor. The bidding for Lot 194 started at £2,500 and within seconds, three online bidders took the price up to £10,000. We all expected that this online bidder would be the lucky one to take the lot but a telephone bidder showed his serious interest at the end and offered a winning bid of £12,000!
