We have now created a dedicated COVID-19 section on our website in order to assist artists in residence and arts residency organisations in navigating through this uncertain and challenging time. Res Artis is delighted to announce the appointment of Carolin Casey (left) as our dedicated Membership Manager. Carolin previously worked with international arts and cultural exchange organisation, Asialink Arts, and membership-based organisation, ArtsHub. She has extensive international and member facing experience having worked in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Carolin will be based in the Melbourne office alongside Executive Director, Eliza Roberts. Carolin wants to hear from you! She is standing by to assist with all your member enquiries so please email her at [email protected]. Ferdos Soudani (right) also joins our team as Communication Officer. Ferdos will liaise with Res Artis members to assist you in meeting your online communication needs such as posting open calls, news items, and funding opportunities. She will also manage all Res Artis social media platforms. Ferdos will be based in our Tehran office hosted by Kooshk Residency, alongside our MENASA Cluster Coordinator, Maryam Bagheri. Res Artis is excited to announce our 2020 conference will be held in Bangkok, Thailand in partnership with Res Artis member Subhashok the Arts Centre. Save the date of early November 2020 in your diaries! We will continue to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 and will confirm conference dates in the coming months. We are also exploring the idea of virtual participation options. |

Our new website was launched at the end of 2019. Thank you so much to all our members for your patience and support while we made the leap. It was a tremendous effort from all involved. We are very proud of our beautiful, GDPR compliant, user-friendly website. Res Artis has received great feedback from artists, users and members. We are just working through a few more technical issues and finishing touches. If you are experiencing any issues with the website, please let us know at [email protected]. A brand new feature on the website has just been finalised. We have added a tool to be used by Associate Members who can post information about funding rounds relating to the arts residencies field. Are you an arts council, philanthropic trust, foundation or ministry that provides funding opportunities for artists to undertake residencies or support for arts residency operators? We are now calling on all our Associate Members to test this new feature! Please log-in to the Member Portal and click ' Add a Residency Funding Opportunity'. Res Artis is currently working to curate a suite of Digital Learning opportunities for members and stakeholders. We will be promoting the latest up and coming residency research projects, hosting a Q&A session with the Res Artis Board, developing an online Book Club relating to arts residency literature and more. UK withdraws from Creative Europe programme post-Brexit |  |

The significance of Brexit has almost been overshadowed by the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, but our members in the UK and Europe are working through the implications for their arts residency programs. The UK Government has decided to withdraw from the Creative Europe programme.Culture Action Europe (CAE) has facilitated a letter signed by over 700 UK cultural organisations sent to the UK Secretary of State for Culture. Now CAE are seeking support from European partners and artists to sign a second letter to send to the UK government. If you have ever collaborated with a UK organisation or worked with a UK artist or cultural actor, or indeed are anticipating to do so in the future, please sign your name here. |
