| When veteran film and TV star Maggie Q recently revealed the secret to her seemingly “ageless” on-screen appearance, many were stunned by its simplicity. (If you haven’t seen the video yet, she helps reduce the look of sagging skin and wrinkles by doing this at home!) But perhaps the most surprising takeaway from this story was the 42-year-old actress’ unexpected stance on collagen supplements — which rank among the most popular anti-aging products women use today. “It might seem counterintuitive, but I deliberately avoid taking collagen supplements, as do many other actors, because they’re just not that effective,” Maggie Q said in a follow-up interview. And according to top experts like physician Dr. Frank Lipman, who routinely works with Maggie Q and other celebrities — she’s not wrong. “Collagen supplements are problematic because for one, their molecules are often too large to be absorbed by the body, and even if they are, there’s still no guarantee that they’ll be sent directly to the skin,” he explains. “So if you want to help aging skin look firmer and more lifted without taking extreme measures, I think Maggie’s method is actually going to be your best bet.” Nevertheless, Maggie Q insists she never intended for her video to be controversial. “I just wanted to show women that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look younger, because a lot of the so-called “ageless” faces you see onscreen — my own included — are largely the result of something anyone can do.” Click Here: How Maggie Q Helps Her Face Look Years Younger [FULL VIDEO] |
