By Chad Calder | Staff writer Relief effort: Volunteers have descended on Arabi to help clean up after a tornado ripped through the St. Bernard Parish community Tuesday night, but one group from California had a bit of a head start. Doug MacCash has their story. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service said Thursday that the tornado's 11 mile path had two locations where 160 mph winds catastrophically damaged homes. Revenge killing? The man killed in Gentilly Wednesday in a shooting that injured his mother was himself accused in a double murder. He was on his way to a court hearing when he was killed, and his attorney is calling it a case of "street justice." Meanwhile, the coroner has identified two of the victims in a triple homicide reported in Gentilly earlier this week. That's more like it: The New Orleans City Council has rectified the egregious policy that saw carjacking and car-theft victims forced to pay hundreds of dollars to recover their vehicles, creating a fund that will reimburse them.
