Dear Friends and Colleagues, As the year ends, Relationship Matters looks to the future with anticipation and remains dedicated to strengthening the relationships of our clients. We will continue to deliver high-quality services with agility, innovation and commitment. On behalf of Relationship Matters, I express my gratitude to our Chair, Andrew Brookes. Andrew has served on our Board since 2007 and steered Relationship Matters as the Chair for more than three years. We thank him for his extraordinary leadership and genuine dedication to improving the organisation and for supporting us to reach greater heights. We wish him the best in his future endeavours. I would like to welcome Mr James McCarthy OAM as the Chair of the Relationship Matters Board. As the community continues to seek mental health and counselling support as a result of the health, social and economic consequences of COVID-19, we encourage everyone to seek support early. We have increased our workforce to reduce the wait times for appointments and we are constantly innovating our service offerings to ensure better access, increasing our reach and providing online services to strengthen relationships. | Introducing the Relationship Matters Online Learning Centre We are pleased to inform you that commencing 2021 we will be launching our innovative Online Learning Centre at Relationship Matters. This learning management system has been designed to deliver relationship education programs in an online format and will provide a learning environment that can be worked through by participants at their own pace in and in their own space. The modules will be both informative and interactive and provide skills and education in a convenient and user-friendly format. They will cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities in order to maximise learning. Participants will have greater flexibility to work around their schedules while they access our relationship education programs. Our aim is to encourage effective learning within participants’ timeframes and space. Our first program will be launched in early 2021 for separated parents. This program will support, educate and guide participants in child-focused parenting after separation. |

| Group Counselling in the Workplace We’re aware that many of our clients have been interested to explore ways with us to support their staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, we’d like to share our experience that our delivery of group counselling and group wellbeing support sessions have been very effective ways for workplaces to support their employees. Some of the distinct benefits of group sessions are: Provides tools and support to staff members who are not inclined to make an individual appointment but who nonetheless benefit from psychological support at this time Can offer positive psychology approaches to learn and grow during times of change In the group environment, feelings are shared and ‘normalised’. Provides a sense of team togetherness during a time of disruption Demonstrates to staff their organisation’s support for their wellbeing during this time Allows the employer to brief the counsellor on any issues of concern for that particular workplace group. For example, workloads, uncertainty, vicarious trauma, workplace division, engagement issues.
