| Refresh Your LinkedIn Presence | Summer is fast approaching - in fact, it's only one week away. But if you're anything like me, you may still have some "spring cleaning" to do. One of the things you may not think about when you're thinking about spring cleaning is your LinkedIn Profile. But I recommend that you take a look at your LinkedIn profile at least twice a year to make any necessary updates. I've been working on a series of videos on refreshing or spring cleaning your LinkedIn Profile, and one of those videos is featured in this newsletter. But if you want more LinkedIn tips, you can check out my LinkedIn Tips playlist on my YouTube Channel. Or perhaps this summer is a good time for you to pick up a copy of Make LinkedIn Work for You. Mediation Solutions of NY, LLC hosted a grand opening celebration on June 8th at our Islandia Office location, and we had lots of fun celebrating with colleagues, lawyers, judges and business people in the community. If you have a case in NY you want to mediate, please think of us! Finally, I'd like to say Happy Father's Dayto all of the Dads out there!I'd love to get your comments on the videos, my columns, or ideas you have for future articles or newsletters. Let me know what you're thinking! Email me at [email protected]. | |
| | 3 Ways to Refresh Your LinkedIn Profile | When is the last time you refreshed your LinkedIn profile? Here are three other ways you can refresh your LinkedIn profile - and they're all about images and media. They say a picture paints a thousand words (and no one seems to read online any more anyway): Update your Profile photoAdd media to your Profile (or update what's already there)Add a banner image to your profile.Read the full post and watch the video here. Recent Columns | | The current issue of the American Bar Association's Law Practice Division's Law Practice magazine is the Management issue. My column in this issue talks about evaluating management skills. In my view, too few law firms do enough to support and nurture future partners and managers effectively, and that makes evaluating management skills difficult. The column provides some suggestions on how to evaluate management skills for those who aspire to management positions and those who already hold them. I'm curious to know your thoughts. You can read the column here. In case you missed it, my last column was all about how you can be more productive with your marketing by repurposing the work you are already doing. You can find the article here. | Second Edition with new tips | The Second Edition of How to Do More in Less Time: The Complete Guide to Increasing Your Productivity and Improving Your Bottom Line, which I co-authored with Daniel J. Siegel, is now available from the American Bar Association. When we started writing the new edition, we thought it would be an easy task, but we found that even though the concepts in the book are evergreen, there was a lot of updating that we needed to do to be in line with the way lawyers practice today. And we added material on videoconferencing, working from home and more.If you pick up a copy, I'd love to hear what you think about it | Planning Guide for Lawyers | | Planning doesn't always have to happen at the beginning or the end of the year.
