A favourite photo from my Roundhouse show in 2013, shared with you first

Hi

I recently had a landmark birthday: my 40th - and it's put me in a retrospective mood. I've been having a look through old photos of significant moments and I thought I'd share one of them with you.

I've not been in touch much lately via email, partly because - you probably know this about me - I'm a perfectionist, and I want to get it just right. And I just never seem to find the time.

But our relationship is important to me, and email gives us a space for it that's a bit more personal. So here we are, I've made the time, I'm putting our connection first.

That's why I want you to see this picture, before I post it on social media. This photo was taken by Richard Isaac at one of my favourite shows at the Roundhouse in October 2013, back when I hadn't even started using Instagram yet.

It's hard to guess which song made me kick that dress out, it might have been 'Shiver and Shake'. I do remember feeling like I was flying with the band, the crowd and that vintage pale rose dress.

London is my home town so the shows in this city have always felt electrifying to me. This show was especially memorable because the Georgian choir, Shvid Katsa, joined me on stage for a few songs.

I want to do my best to make sure that you are the first to hear about all the exciting things I'm up to in the world of music and records, here via email. I've got some news coming up, so keep an eye out.

Katie x
