JConcepts P2K YZ-2 body buggy body shell Posted: 16 May 2019 10:29 AM PDT JConcepts have introduced their new P2K body shell for the Yokomo YZ-2 2WD buggy. An evolution of the P2 body, the “K” is sleeker by removing rear down-force features to allow the buggy to turn on the tightest circuits and carpet and astroturf surfaces where traction is always plentiful. The entire centre section of the cab on the P2K has a channel based design to flow directly over the middle of the vehicle to stabilise the at-speed handling. The front of the cab, important to performance, includes the P2 position with heavily recessed front windshield. The JConcepts edge treatment remains on the side-capsule area for air-flow direction by the cab and pointing the force to the rear wing area. The chamfering stands out as a JConcepts design feature on every new shell, the P2K has those elements and in great positions for decals and paint allocation. The P2K takes into account, spur covers and drops over the kit supplied setup. Rear louvers tuck into the rear stance of the shell which can always be customer trimmed for a slight amount of heat escape. The body included two S-type rear wings for durability, rear traction and high-speed tracking. Axial 1/24 SCX24 Deadbolt 4WD RTR rock crawler Posted: 16 May 2019 05:45 AM PDT Axial have introduced their new 1/24 scale SCX24 Deadbolt 4WD RTR Rock Crawler. Hardly 200mm long the smaller sibling of the SCX10 II Deadbolt truck is ideal for both indoor and outdoor excursions thanks to plenty of steel components — from the C-channel frame rails to the front and rear axles and dogbones. Even over off-road, mountainous, rocky and desert terrain, it has the strength to keep pushing onward and upward. For the most reliable handling, the SCX24 chassis features a three-link front and four-link rear suspension. The combination of coil-over shocks and durable plastic suspension links delivers Axial-worthy crawling performance even at this small scale. The worm gear drive setup permits a high ground clearance plus a low gear ratio that reduces torque twist. Powered by an included 180-size motor and LiPo battery, the vehicle shows off competence and charisma on the trails. The Deadbolt body offers a narrow stance, bulging hood, realistic driver figure, and moulded roll cage with realistic light bar. The realism continues right down to the ground with licensed KMC XD229 Machete Crawl wheels wrapped in Nitto Trail Grappler tires. Adding even more to its beginner appeal, the SCX24 Deadbolt comes 100 percent complete and ready to run. Everything required for action is in the box: the assembled and finished vehicle, an Axial 2-channel 2.4GHz radio system with servo and ESC/receiver unit, the Dynamite 88T brushed electric motor and 350mAh 2S 7.4V LiPo battery, as well as an USB LiPo charger; and even four AA cells for the transmitter. RC Maker GeoCarbon capacitor mount Posted: 16 May 2019 12:45 AM PDT RC Maker have introduced their new GeoCarbon capacitor mount for many of today’s 1/10th scale speed controllers. Weighing in at only one gram, it allows to fix the capacitor to the ESC without any risk of it falling off. Normally the ESC is a very popular place to stick the capacitor to, as it is off the ground and out of the way, however when the ESC gets hot, it releases the double sided tape and the capacitor can move and fall off. The carbon bracket screws between the fan and the heatsink, then allowing to stick the capacitor to the carbon with a much more reliable mount that ensures the double sided tape stays stuck. It can be rotated or flipped to any side of the ESC desired and two versions for 25mm and 30mm fans with up to 3mm screws are available.
